Mission San Luis

Genesis provided an array of services for the Mission San Luis archaeological park including:

  • Site design services for the historic reconstruction of the Church, Friary, Chief's House, Council House, and Fort;
  • Site design, stormwater design and permitting services for the Mission San Luis Visitor Center;
  • A full range of professional services to support a more visible access road along with new facilities for office space and archeological laboratory;
  • Site planning services associated with the location of a new 54 vehicle parking area and the development of a pedestrian circulation system to link the parking area with the various interpretive exhibits on site; and
  • Environmental permitting and preparation of construction documents.

Genesis was able to overcome several challenging constraints including:

  • Recognition of historic conditions; Significant terrain;
  • A closed drainage basin with poorly percolating soils;
  • The need for off-site sanitary sewer extensions;
  • Hidden infrastructure including stormwater facilities and watermain for fire protection; and
  • Historic resource avoidance.
